INTERVIEW WITH SINGERS AND MUSIC BANDS

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka Lady Gaga was born on March 20th 1986. She is an American singer, songwriter and musician. Gaga was born in Yokers, New York but grew up in Mahattan. She got her stage name when music producer Rob Fusari compared her vocal style to Freddie Mercury and took the name Gaga from the Queen song "Radio Ga Ga".

Lady Gaga learned to play the piano by ear at the age of four, and began performing at open mic nights by age 14. When she was 17 Lady Gaga was one of the 20 people in the world who gained early admission to the New York University's Tish School of the Arts. This is where she developed her writing skills by composing essays about arts, religion and socio political order. She did however withdraw from university and never graduated. She then moved out of the house, and started hanging out in the Lower East Side doing drugs, and appearing in burlesque shows at dive bars with drag queens and go go dancers. Lady Gaga admits that her father couldn't even look at her and she says 'he just didn't understand'.

By age 20 she began working with Interscope records as a songwriter. She has written songs for the pop sensation Pussycat Dolls. Akon recognized Gaga's vocal talent, and signed her to his label Kon Live Distribution. She started to work on her debut album after that. She released The Fame in 2008 which supposedly was about how 'anyone can feel famous'. Her first single Just Dance (nominated for a Grammy) was a huge success.

Lady Gaga was influenced by David Bowie and Queen, along with Madonna and Michael Jackson. Lady Gaga apparently got rid of her natural brunette hair and died it blonde because she kept being mistaken for singer Amy Winehouse.

Pop singer Justin Bieber was barely into his teens when he released his platinum-selling debut, My World and became one of the 2009's youngest success stories. An Ontario native, Bieber had placed second in a local singing competition two years prior and began posting his performances on YouTube. The videos caught the attention of Scooter Braun, a talent agent and former So So Def marketing executive, who helped Bieber land an impromptu audition with the R&B star Usher. Impressed by what he saw, Usher -- along with Island/Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid -- quickly signed the 15-year-old Bieber to a recording contract.

Bieber released his first single, "One Time," in May 2009. Supported by a popular video that featured an appearance by Usher, "One Time" went platinum in both Canada and America, a feat that was replicated later that year with the release of My World. The disc was technically an EP, featuring only seven songs, but it reached number six on the Billboard 200 album chart and sold over a million copies. Less than a year after his debut, Bieber returned with the "second half" of My World, a ten-song release titled My World 2.0. Further demonstrating his and his management's marketing power, over 8,000 fans who pre-ordered My World 2.0 had their head shots used in a photo mosaic (formed to look like a portrait of Bieber) that was displayed on the back side of the disc's booklet. The release topped the Billboard 200. A few weeks later, a combination of My World and My World 2.0, titled My Worlds, appeared in some territories. By the end of 2010, Bieber issued My Worlds Acoustic, a set featuring acoustic versions of nine songs off the My World discs, as well as one new song. The following February, the 3-D documentary Never Say Never was released to theaters. The seven-track Never Say Never: The Remixes, released just days after the film, maintained the flow of Bieber product, and featured appearances from the likes of Kanye West, Usher, and Miley Cyrus. Just in time for Christmas 2011 came the holiday-themed Under the Mistletoe, complete with several celebrity guest duets and an original song, "Mistletoe," for the first single. ~ Matt Collar & Andy Kellman, Rovi

Wow - thank you Jon. Wonderful discussion and appreciate your pointed questions and Obama's honest, informative, intelligent and logical answers. This interview proved to me that our President needs to speak to the American public on a regular basis!! I remember Bush was out there all the time talking - he didn't make a lot of sense, but he addressed the people and told them what he thought. EEEK. Also I think Obama needs to point out much more often the Bush Administration's responsiblity in this current horrendous economic situation! As is seems many of the American people forget it took Bush 8 years to drag us into the worse situation since the Great Depression. I felt proud to be a Progressive just listening to both of you. I wonder if any Regressives (Tea Party people) were listening? Maybe its time for a Green Tea Party rally? Thanks again.
